CINEMATIC INTIMATE BEWITCHING

ABOUT

London-native FAYYE is a rising alt-pop singer, songwriter and storyteller. Having first reached for the piano keys aged four, FAYYE grew up as a classical concert pianist. This, alongside her love of stories, formed the basis for her later songwriting, which often starts as a piano chord, a haunting melodic line and a bittersweet scene from a book, play, poem or film.

Taking inspiration from the world of classical music, film scores and the pop music she grew up with, FAYYE's cinematic, bewitching tracks provide a daily dose of escapism. With reminiscences of London Grammar, Laura Marling, Birdy and Freya Ridings, FAYYE writes to transport listeners into a world of rich harmonies and soaring melodic lines. Having caught the attention of critics at Clash, the BBC and audiences at Ronnie Scott’s alike, FAYYE has been working towards the release of her second EP, ‘Rise’, coming out in full in 2023.

THE RISE EP

Each track on ‘Rise’ EP is about renewal. ‘Blind Faith’ tells the story of a woman walking through city streets at night, determined to stop following the opinions of others and instead, believe in her own intuition. ‘Places’ tells the story of two people driving past the places they know in pursuit of something new and unknown. ‘Unstoppable, evokes a sense of glistening optimism from the outset. Inspired by the athletes at the Tokyo Olympics, shimmering synths set the scene for a story about a victorious athlete inches away from the finish line. While ‘Different Today’ is about waking up afresh, walking down pavements early in the morning with a renewed sense that it’s time to 'wash the ghosts away’.

'Rise' triumphantly signals a new, fresh start for FAYYE. In her own words, “these tracks reflect and celebrate the sense of confidence I discovered in my late-twenties. I hope they can provide my listeners with an uplifting sense of joy, confidence and freedom.”
