Different Today

The lyrics for ‘Different Today’ were written one summer morning at 5am. The rain of the night before had ‘washed the ghosts away’ and the stillness of a new day filled the air. It was that moment at dawn, when anything is possible - before the day has decided what it’s going to be. It felt like a new beginning.

Places

‘Places’ takes inspiration from the final scene in 90s cult film, ‘Thelma and Louise’. Over laid-back, nostalgic melodies, FAYYE tells the story of two people driving away from their hometown, leaving it in the rearview as they venture towards something new – summer wind in their hair.

Blind Faith

Written in 2020, with the world on pause, ‘Blind Faith’ celebrates hope and excitement for the future. Sonic elements of Alternative Pop fuse with dreamy, Chilled Pop melodies to tell the story of a woman walking alone through city streets at night, deciding it's time to follow her own, independent path.

Unstoppable

Inspired by the athletes at the Tokyo Olympics, shimmering synths set the scene for a story about ambition and anticipation, inches away from the finish line. In FAYYE’s own words, ‘I wanted to write a track that motivates people to get out and do the things that make them feel on top of the world.’

She

‘She’ forms part of FAYYE’s debut EP, which draws upon her personal experiences growing up, matching sonorous melodies to adventurous Pop and Jazz harmonies and rhythms. The title track tells the story of a woman with fervent independence of spirit, who comes and goes and leaves people in her wake. For inspiration, FAYYE looked to famous female characters in cinema, such as the forever wandering Vianne Rocher in ‘Chocolat’ or the ever-independent and unpredictable Vicki in ‘The Thomas Crowne Affair’.
